what kind of ingredients do you use in your soaps?
I like to use many oils. Palm, olive, coconut, lard, and beef tallow. The lard that I use comes from the pig that we raise here on our mini farm.
why do your soaps cost more than store bought soaps?
I use quality ingredients. Also I make my soaps in small batches on my kitchen stove. So time and money for supplies go into the price of my soaps.
I noticed that your olive oil soap cost more than the other soaps. why is that?
Olive oil soap takes six months to one full year to cure. So time is money!
You can make soap out of beer?
YES! I also use milk, tea, wine, and aloe juice.
how long does it take you to make a wash cloth?
If I can knit uninterrupted, then I can finish a washcloth in about 2 1/2 hours!
CAn you make soap out of human fat, like in the movie fight club?
Yes I can use human fat..If it were easily accessible.
WHat is so good about goats milk?
Goats milk has a lot of lipids (fats),it also has alpha hydroxy acids which help remove dead skin cells.Goats milk is high in vitamin A which helps to maintain healthy skin. Cream in goat milk helps to boost the moisturizing property of the soap. Goats milk also has minerals like selenium in it.
Why do you use lye?
Oils and fats need to go through a chemical process called saponification. Adding lye to fats and oils cause them to turn into a salt. That salt is what we call soap!
Can I return your soap if I do not like it?
I am sorry..I can not take back open soap.. I do offer a refunds.
Why do you donate your soap to charity?
I believe in helping people when ever I can. As a soap maker I give my best to those who need help. I also support our veterans, police, and first responders.
